The girls wanted to go back to the “desert”
today to play in the sand. I took them
for a little while this morning. Then I
dragged them through the ½ mile nature trail.
It really was a little disorienting coming back out of the forest loop
off a pine straw, mossy trail into sand everywhere. The weather has been beautiful here.
After lunch we took Brad to
Freeport (not quite dragged, but almost) to see the shopping mecca. It is a very nice place, different from most
outlet malls because it is spread out all over the town. The LL Bean complex (Boat, Bike and Ski;
Home; Clothing Outlet) is the centerpiece with other great stores radiating out
from there. I guess there is a harbor
area too somewhere, but we haven’t made it there. We bought a few little things, including “Rilla
of Ingleside” (#8 in the Anne of Green Gables Series). We had #1 when we started out on the trip. Audra finally fell in love with it and has
devoured the series as we have found the books along the way. Carmen has read #1 and now I am reading it. Good wholesome reading. I love it!
Tonight around the fire, we pulled
out my laptop and introduced the girls to “A lovely lady and a man named Brady.” They ate it up. There are no family friendly TV shows on
anymore. We will just have to pull from
the good ole days.
