Day 22 - RMNP Day 3

This keeps happening.  (We did the same thing at Cheyenne Mtn SP and Leadville.)  We register for two nights and then decide to stay longer.  That’s what is nice about first come, first served!  So we are staying another night.  The dry camping is totally worth the surroundings!

We checked out another visitor’s center (Morraine Park VC).  This one had a museum-like area that told all about the park.  It was well done.  It also had a gift shop!  Here Carmen purchased a Junior Ranger vest with pockets galore.  Now she is REALLY all set.  She also got a 10% discount since she is a junior ranger!  It seems like she is the saver since she keeps spending money, but really Audra just saved up and purchased an iPod touch before we left, so she is going week to week right now.  Her only purchase so far was a pair of Muk Luks at Community Threads in Leadville.  Very practical!  She sleeps in them every night.

Today we did a shorter hike (3 mi round trip on Lawn Lake Trail) to a rapids area.  It was slightly more strenuous b/c it was uphill the whole way.  (Except when we came back down.)  Pretty views.  Yummy picnic.
