Because of timing with meeting some friends next week, and
because we needed to catch our breath after our fabulous trek up the OR coast,
we are hanging out at the Mt. St. Helen’s KOA for a few days. Sweet Audra requested that we go to church
today and since we were finally in a place and condition where that seemed
feasible, we looked up our options on line and headed to the Longview C of
C. We got there and just couldn’t go
in. There were about 9 cars in the
parking lot and no kids anywhere. The
girls balked and Brad drove on out of the parking lot. After three failed attempts at other churches
(incorrect times on the websites, being too late – too early, etc.), we gave
up. It was a little sad, but we are
determined to try again next week.
We listened to our home church preacher’s sermon from last
week on the way back to camp and had our own church at our picnic table. It was fine, we were just ready to share
church with a larger group. Maybe next
Sunday.
Tonight, Carmen got stung by a yellowjacket right by her
eye. It scared her and hurt, but she’s
tough and didn’t cry much at all!
