We headed out this morning to run some shopping errands. Brad’s hiking shoes (and mine, but I don’t
have a receipt and they were purchased before we were REI members) are
separating from the soles. Carmen Nike’s
are pretty much trashed. So we went to
REI. Love that store. Many dollars later, we were in possession of
two new pairs of shoes and 3 pairs of socks.
We hopped over to the Tacoma mall for Brad to run in the Apple store and
we ate lunch in the Food Court. Oh – and
Carmen bought a $5 DS game at Game Stop.
Then we went to Guitar Center for Brad to pick up something he needed. Errands accomplished we drove
back to camp. I did laundry and Brad
worked. He finally got to do his Skype interview
for a metal detecting reality show. They
have been trying to set that up for several weeks.
Then
the real fun began. My cousin Michael
and his wife Jeni drove down from Kirkland (NE from Seattle across Lake
Washington) and we went out to eat!
First I gave them the tour of our little bubble nest. 2 seconds later we were on our way to Gig
Harbor, a sweet little town on the southern tip of Puget Sound. Restaurant #1 didn’t look as great as we had
hoped so we went next door to restaurant #2, Anthony’s. Same view of the harbor on the outside,
completely different on the inside. A
bit pricier too, but totally worth the atmosphere and food. We had such a great visit with them. I wish we had had longer (a week, a month, or
just lived in the same town)! Once
again, I am loving seeing family. Maybe
not having community for a little while increases your appreciation when you
do! Girls were tired, but so good at the
restaurant. They were quiet and let us
talk. Not that I was surprised, just
thankful for sweet children.
Cousins!
