Day 167 (Oct 30) – Inside our Small Camper

Speaking of the warm camper, we stayed in it pretty much all day today.  It is very small.  One of the reasons we bought such a small camper was because we didn’t want to be tempted to use it as a hang out.  We wanted to force ourselves to be outside.  That has worked great for the majority of the trip, but it is a little tight on days like today.  Brad escaped to the truck and left the bed to us for school, Brady Bunch and Dance Recital DVD.  We slept late b/c there was nothing else to do.  (We still haven’t managed to get a map or brochure of this park.)  I thought about going for a walk once and then didn’t.  When I started cooking supper, Audra went outside for some fresh air.  She gathered more wood.   Carmen came out for a bit, but was not a happy camper (literally) so she ate inside by herself.  (She was cold).  She did come back out to roast marshmallows.  It wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be (high of 53), but definitely too cold to hang out outside all day.  We watched Nim’s Island tonight.  Brad and I think Carmen had a homesick moment because we haven’t been doing a lot lately.  We are ready to get our hiking on … if it will stop snowing in the Smokies.
