Day 179 (Nov 11) – Sunday

We made it to church again.  I am a little embarrassed to admit that is only the third time on our trip.  I really thought we would go a lot more than that, but it has been hard.  Hard to locate churches in small towns or near national parks, hard to fit it in on travel days (when check-out is at 10 or 11 AM), just harder than I thought, which has made the few times we’ve been even more precious.  And on the rare occasion that we have gone, it has been a wonderful reminder of how important spiritual community really is.  Thank you today to Landmark Church of Christ for letting us worship with you!

Lunch at Jason’s Deli.  Then quick goodbyes.  Actually, first we gave quick hellos to Jason’s parents who were just coming in from Florence.  Then we said goodbye.

We drove 3 hours to a KOA in Meridian, MS for our final night of camping.  We arrived at 5:30, but it was already dark.  They were very accommodating and found us a fire ring so we could have a final campfire.  The weather was nice.  We talked through our favorite parts of the trip and had a relaxing evening.  Then it rained all, night, long.
